ISOTONER Women's Irish Cable Convertible Flip Top Gloves - Unlined
I love this style of glove/mitten and was very excited to finally see one in cable knit made of yarn - so many are for men and hunting. I need the thumb flap to open as well as the fingers and most don't do that but these do. My excitement vanished the minute I took them out of the package. The pair I received are scratchy and unpleasant to touch when I was expecting soft yarn. They have a long paper tag inside the wrist which still scratches once you cut it out.
They looked like children's sized gloves but since I have small, thin hands I didn't think that would be much of a problem. But it was. They are very tight on my thin fingers, especially the thumbs and the top flap is too short for my fingers. When I flipped it up my fingernails went right through the yarn. And no, cutting the fingernails would not have solved the problem. I wanted to love these and maybe I just got a faulty pair since no other reviewers seem to have had these issues. But they are now in the "give away" pile and perhaps some child will like them. It was my first purchase of isotoner brand and it will probably be my last now too.

I use a wheel chair and need my hands warm and covered but also need the feeling of my fingertips. These are exactly what I have been looking for. Comfortable and warm.

great llok and feel. They are warm and sytlish
The gloves look great and are very warm. The detail makes them an excellant addition to any coat. I like the individual finger covers also. Makes a great choice for any winter day.

minor flaws, still great gloves.
This is the first time ive ever purchased from Isotoners, however not the first time ive owned a pair of gloves like these. Let me starts by saying other gloves ive bought like this have been the same price or more expensive and have been cheaper quality than this BY FAR.
--BUTTONS. yes, the button on the back of the hand is loose. however, this really doesnt bother me because its a pain in the butt to button that thing closed every time and the flap stays back on its own without getting in the way so its really not necessary to button it. Also, very simple to strengthen the button if you wanted to with simple needle and thread. the button on the thumb is very secure and not loose at all, it does look a little neater when you button the thumb flap down, but again, i don't because its a pain to do and not necessary.
--SEAMS. the seam around the fingers is what i really care about in these gloves. Other gloves i have bought dont finish the seam very well and they unravel and its down hill from there. with these they are very nicely finished and i dont seen these having that problem at any time.
--FLAPS. another note, if you are picky with these kind of gloves, the thumb flap DOES NOT overlap the rest of the glove like the palm flap does so it does leave a little space of skin exposed (about half a centimeter). Personally not a big deal to me.
-- "FINGER SLEEVES". the "finger sleeves" for lack of better word, fit very well around my fingers. In my experience sometimes they can be a little too baggy but these fit just right.
overall the look is great, the quality is great in comparison to others out there in this style, and they are pretty warm (not as warm as the microluxe lined gloves i also purchased from isotoner).
