The ISOTONER brand of products offers a full line of winter gloves, leather gloves, stretch leather gloves and stretch classic gloves as well as women's slippers, men's slippers and kids' slippers. Our ISOTONER slippers include ladies slippers, ballerina slippers, satin slippers, bridal slippers, wedding slippers, moccasin slippers and clog slippers. ISOTONER ...you have to wear them to believe them.
The totes Story
In 1924, the company was founded in Oakley, Ohio, a small suburb of Cincinnati. The plant was moved to Loveland, Ohio in 1942 where the very first totes rubber rain boots were manufactured. These rubber rain boots, called "totes" to emphasize how portable and easy-to-carry they were, eventually became the company's most popular product. In 1961, Brad Phillips, a Chicago businessman, bought the company and changed the name to totes, Incorporated. In 1970, totes introduced the first easy to fold collapsable umbrella in the United States and it quickly became a hit. In the 1970s, in addition to the folding rain umbrella, many products were introduced under the
totes name, including totes rain scarves, rainwear, hats, expanding bags, and slipper socks. 1985 brought the development of the Chromatics program, a line of weather products targeted to the supermarket, drugstore, and mass merchandiser trade classes. About this time totes established offices in New York, Toronto, the United Kingdom, France and Asia.
The ISOTONER Story
Founded in 1910, the Aris Glove Company originally manufactured fine quality leather gloves and knit accessories in Europe and later in the United States. In the early 1970's, Aris developed a glove made from nylon/spandex fabric with leather trim. The glove was marketed under the ISOTONER name combining the terms "isometric" and "toning" to reflect the 4-way stretch and massaging properties. The ISOTONER glove was a major success for the company. Aris changed its name to ARIS ISOTONER, Incorporated and in 1969 became a subsidiary of Consolidated Foods, now the Sara Lee Corporation. The Acorn Story
Acorn products reflect the closely-held values of founder David Quinn, who started the company in 1976. His goal was to bring the "Comfort on Earth" to consumers who value quality, workmanship, and performance. From the original Slipper Sock to technologically advanced indoor/outdoor footwear, Acorn now offers consumers an expansive and varied collection of indoor and outdoor footwear appropriate for all seasons. Since its founding, Acorn's mission has remained consistent: to provide 'Comfort on Earth' to the world one pair of feet at a time. Acorn's commitment to comfort is at the fore of each collection, while new designs incorporate the latest lifestyle influences, consumer input, and always the very best quality.
The totes ISOTONER Story
In 1997, totes and ISOTONER merged to form the totes ISOTONER Corporation. This company offers quality products from two of the most recognized apparel brand names in the country. In the most recent Women's Wear Daily top 100 survey, ISOTONER and totes were among the top 10 most widely recognized accessory brands. In 2010 the totes-ISOTONER Corporate aquired Acorn Products.
Today, totes ISOTONER is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio where we operate a state of the art office and distribution center. We have over 1,000 employees worldwide among our Cincinnati, New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Manila offices. Our mission is to offer well-built, durable weather accessories for the whole family.
